I think it's a codec related issue too, because low quality videos are
recordable.

after boot-gb-110421-snapshot.zip , trying to record video , but no recording ,
ending the application, then trying to use it again to take photos, but app
crashes,i don't know if this related to app or to the new boot.

this is a codec and camera issue. not kernel issue.

So is there a fix for it? is there another apk we can use or a codec that we
can add?

http://forum.openetna.com/index.php?topic=1243.0

some Chinese guy says he have fixed this issue.

so I have downloaded this image and have checked what is differ from original
GB.
and I have found that it contains some missing codec related libs.

...
Only in ./lib: libOmxCore.so
Only in ./lib: libmm-omxcore.so
Only in ./lib: libqcomm_omx.so
...

I think this is the magic. I just have copied this libs and now, HD video
recording works correctly.

the libs was uploaded by N2k1 here
(http://www.n2k1.openetna.mayix.net/firmware/open_eve/ginger110429/lib.rar)
to install via adb
1-adb remount
2-adb push xxxxxxx.so /system/lib
3-adb shell reboot

many youtube clips are not working At HQ , but we can not do anything cause it
depends on clip encoder/compressor codec.

320x240 size Normal video works.
480x360 size HQ video works
640x480 size HQ video does not work.

I think this is a hard-coded restriction of libOmxH264Dec.so

From Google or LG?
That you need to buy a better mobile phone?

Katzen, this is cause our phone doesn't support HD vids.
This is discussion of lg gw620, not about google
