I think this is not OpenEVE or OpenEtna issue.
this is a CyanogenMod issue.

@wkp // I do think this is a CM issue, but I don,t think they will fix it for
us, so either we have to get upstream in CM or we have to fix it on our own.
@justsad // why would you think I need arabic? I actually use russian but I'm
not russian)))
Keyboard layout is qwerty but layout of special symbols is different so we have
to push a specific .kcm.bin. There are too much letters in the language so some
of the letters are actually this special symbols and when I press them they are
right russian letters but rest of the keyboard is not in russian so there
should be a key-combination or an option to change the input language. I have
attached the .kcm.bin if necessarry.

Yeah, it has a bit of different symbol layout and some of the russian letters
are actually some of this symbols, however the rest of the keyboard is not in
russian. So it would be great if it was possible to change hardware keyboard
language...

"Physical keyboard" is *hardware* keyboard.
"XIM/Android keyboard" is *software* keyboard.
and shift-space is LG XIM specific feature.
you have been saying different things.
anyway it is not important..
----
you can make your kcm with russian letters.
I think you mean Cyrillic keyboard.
http://winrus.com/screen_e.htm
you can make your kcm with any unicode letters. (See also issue #6 )
you can use shift+alt-X mapping for russian letters.
and .. shift+alt combination can be locked by typing "shift+shift" and "alt+alt"
this is real "hardware keyboard".
GB has builtin XIM keyboard named "Android keyboard" and it support several
languages.
and LG's XIM.apk also can be used with GB. (Please see issue #18)

No problems...
I actually made a .kcm.bin with cyrillic letters for Shift+Alt, but there is no
way to type capitals because pressing shift would unblock the combination and
you can't really type "space" when Alt is blocked because "sym" is alternative
for "space", that's kind of uncomfortable...
So can you please just push the file above, but don't forget to do that)))
