Edited database schemas will not load properly into Internet Explorer #551

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Edit a database schema and save it, using Chrome. Everything works
2. Start IE and try to look at the db schema in that.
3. See just one grey box with the title 'city', but no fields in it. The other 
tables don't appear at all

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
IE still doesn't enable users to see or edit databases properly if they have 
been edited previously.

Please use labels and text to provide additional information.

IE has repeatedly had problems processing the XML representation of available 
data types. I've replaced this with a JSON representation which seems to work a 
lot better.
