dead_spec port attempt #162

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
For the fun of it, I have tried porting the spec-while-dead feature. I have
succeeded. However, my
test server seems to crash whenever a turret shoots something:
********************
ERROR: Cvar_Update: handle out of range
********************
----- Server Shutdown (Server crashed: Cvar_Update: handle out of range) -----
==== ShutdownGame ====
ShutdownGame:
------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway, here is the patch. I hope someone can find and fix the problem... I
checked, and the
problem is somewhere in the patch, so DONT add it to svn yet...

That is a known problem that was fixed in Lakitu7's qvm.
Check out http://source.mercenariesguild.net/lakitu7-qvm commits 45 to 60.

It won't let me do "svn co" from there. I have tried to look through the
individual file logs, but nothing looks like
it would help. Could you be a little more specific?

Nevermind, I got the svn. I seem to have fixed the problem, which was due to
some unchecked attacker-
>client->pers.<statscounters> calls. Here is the apparently working patch.

NOTE:
I have NOT fully tested this.

NOTE2:
My spec-wallhax work while speccing a teammate. This may or may not be
fixable...

No significant work done on. Can be re-opened if interest is still there.
