Is it possibile to have a panel for view the original image while processing
the raw? Attached you can see this feature in lightroom.

Well, we had thiswish before. The question is, what is the original? The
embedded JPEG (which is just processed in the camera) or the plain RAW data
(which is usually not very pleasing) or something else?
If we find a useful "original" it would be possible, though a little work...
One could reuse the image view from the file manager...

Thank you Mike for your reply.
I think the "original" could be the image that appear in photivo when a raw
file is loaded, just with the default preset. If the user wants, could replace
this original image with any other jpeg: the one processed in the camera, or
any other version of the image previously processed with photivo (just load a
different pts file in a new window?).

What do you think about this?

Thanks,
Giuseppe.

Actually, after learning a little how to process raw with photivo... this is
certainly the feature I was missing the most; even more than layers :D (which I
never learnt to use properly)

Other than that... I am really impressed about photivo. Great-great work.

I think the question what is the original is the wrong question. Let the user
choose.

I can think of following choices which are available through a select box under
the 'orginal' image:

- camera jpeg
- snapshot 1
- snapshot 2
- snapshot x
- previous

This means I can compare with the camera jpeg.

I can create snapshots of the current settings. This is done with click on a
button, I can giva a name but there's already the automatic name 'snapshot x'
where x is a number.
It would be nice to give the possibility to rename the snapshots. Then the
naming step could be skipped. Adding the snapshot functionality might be more
work but it could be added later.

I can select the previous to see what my current editing has changed. This will
be updated automatically when I change the settings.

And ... thanks for photivo!
