Video support #16

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. launch Youtube app
2. watch a video

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Videos don't work on youtube and android players

Hint: related to qdsp5_comp src?
related to module not loading because of different compilation version
(wifi-like problem)?

More info:
if you open a video you will only hear the sound ..(and it wont stop anymore),
but if you open a second one the video will start, audio also, and the sound of
the first video is also there ..

Here is a fix to watch videos on the phone for MoboPlayer and MX Video Player.
MoboPlayer: Start it - Open the menu ( ... ) - Setting - Enable Default Using
Soft-Decoder
MX Video Player: Start it - Click Windows button - Settings - Enable S/W Decoder

Unfortunately there is no such option for Youtube player. It always tries to
use the HW decoder first, which fails and creates a zombie process. On a second
or third try, the Youtube player uses the SW decoder too and thus shows a
video. The disadvantage of that is, that the first started process hangs still
in the system and doesn't let your processor going to suspend anymore, which
screws batterylife.

Hope that helps,
Sven
