Doesn't get track information from Foobar when set to "minimize to notification area" #127

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
When the option("minimize to notification area") is active, musictracker
cant track playing song and cant change song information of pidgin. Because
of the this problem, I cant use foobar as minimized to notification side :).

Please have a read of http://code.google.com/p/pidgin-musictracker/wiki/FAQ#8

Configuring muscitracker to autodetect, rather than specifically for foobar,
should
work much better...

What version of foobar200 are you using? What version of musictracker are you
using?

> well, I tried foobar to be set up "auto-detect" but it could not track.

I really hope you mean "I tried to set musictracker to be auto-detect" :-)

Please set musictracker to auto-detect, run foobar, and provide the musictracker
debug output provoked by changing the track a couple of times..

well, I read the wiki page and "It doesn't work when player is set to minimize
to
tray" from there. so I demand ability that can track songs while foobar
minimized :)

As FAQ#8 quite clearly states, all the limitations with foobar2000 support
noted in
FAQ#8 only apply when the (rather bad) direct foobar2000 support is used. If
you
follow the recommendation of that FAQ and use "auto-detect", it should work much
better (and specifically, will work when foobar2000 is minimized).

Going forwards, this is the only way I intend to support foobar2000, given the
limitations and weaknesses of the direct support, so I shall only be spending
effort
fixing problems with foobar2000 has in working in "auto-detect" mode.

If you provide the information requested above, I may be able to determine why
foobar2000 doesn't work for you in 'auto-detect' mode.

I'm afraid I keep on forgetting about the components which need to be installed
into
foobar to make it work well. I've updated the FAQ to mention these.

well, after amip install, there is no problem :). it works perfect while foobar
is
minimized into notification area.
