Will not build on python 3.x

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Attempt to run the installer on python 3.x

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected - package builds correctly

Instead I get a huge error stack

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Protobuf 2.6.0, Windows 7 x64, Python 3.4.1

Please provide any additional information below.
Attempted a fresh reinstall of python.  Did not help.  Found python3-protobuf 
package on PyPi but it is not the most recent version.
