Proxy profile is specific for a connection #23

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
When creating a proxy proxile, the user will assign which connection to use
with. So that proxy settings for GPRS can be different than a proxy
settings say for WiFi.

There should be an option called 'All', which means that the profile will
be used for all connections.

It seems to be a good idea, becuase a lot of people are using different
types of connections and the seetings might vary.

Couldn't you pull the proxy information stored in the Connections control
panel? I
mean, e.g. Opera doesn't need me to re-enter it. I assume there's some API...
I may
try to find it at some point, if you don't think it's worth bothering.

The big picture of this is, that prssr is currently missing an option 'Use
connection
manager'.

Connection Manager on my device can set up SOCKS4 (no auth), SOCKS5 (with or
without
auth). And I'm not sure about HTTP proxy. I remember, that I had to implement
proxy
settings, because there were some troubles with proxies. So this all should be
done
for not-using-connection-manager way.

And someone has to test it in real life situations. I can fake proxies, but I
use
direct internet connection all the time.

I think you can test it with the current windows mobile 6.1 emulator from
microsoft.
On my device i can setup the proxy too for http, https and wap.

The "Use build in connection manager" option dose still not work in 1.4.4, not
for
downloads and not for updates. It only works if i specify the proxy in pRssr
direct.

Anyway, really nice work andrsd!
