JUNE 6TH 2013 MEETING MINUTES

1) GENERAL

* NM Forest Closures and up to date fire info can be found on 
http://www.inciweb.org/  or  http://nmfireinfo.com/

* SEEDS Leadership: Please update your contact info on the Wiki (ie your phone 
# and best email) 
    ALSO expect an email about when we can have a true officer’s meeting at UNM within the near future.

* Alanna (with Angie) setting up separate SEEDS account on Gmail. All of the 
officers would be owners and it would be connected to the Wiki. Stay tuned.

* Upcoming Webpage (created by Oscar)
    link to Facebook
    loboseeds.com (??)

* Look for information about ESA travel opportunities available within the next 
year in the “Travel Opportunities” folder on this Drive. These will also be 
posted on the Wiki as soon as possible by Alanna.

2) MEETINGS

* Meetings with the whole SEEDS group start at beginning of semester
    Summer meetings only for officers 
    Structure of meetings up in the air
    hopefully 2 meetings per month; one early in the month M and then one later in month on T/R...?
    Welcome Back day table needs to be staffed 
        Need to contact ASUNM to set up

3) BUDGET

* Use it or lose it date for our Advertising budget is JUNE14th 
    Aaron (?) has all the info about the purchases for the Ted Turner project.
    Oscar is designing banner using the poster design and the dimensions of the “free table”. To be purchased at “Fast Signs” by the 14th.
    Adeline and Sarah are creating medium sized posters to advertise SEEDS (1’ X 2’) with several possible ways to change the dates on them to reflect our meeting day/time (so that we don’t have to repost them).

4) PROJECTS & PROPOSALS

* Officer camping retreat (as a “get to know ya”) after the ESA conference 
in mid August.
    We will need:
    Drivers
    List of attendees
    Food / Food list / Food preferences
    Tent situation (may have some for the Ted Turner proj by that time)
    Get Excited officers!

* Sarah and Alanna drafting proposal re: Ecological Exchange

* Chimayo Conservation Corps
    SEEDS Sponsored Biological/Ecological Fieldwork Experience
    3 separate days and groups of 3-4 people
    Contact: Angie (will be getting more information soon)

* TED TURNER PROJECT
    No deadline (except what we set). 
    Talk of hosting it at Vermejo Ranch instead of Amaderas Ranch.
    Refocus direction of experiment (possibly prairie dogs, etc.)
    Date of trip in flux-- best date seems to be Aug 31-Sept 2 (Labor Day Weekend).
    If this ^^ date holds, registration will probably close by Aug 15th.PUBLICIZING this trip is necessary, and more info will be available asap.

I don't think I have the Ted Turner supplies list. I thought Ben had it. If I 
do, it's sitting on my desk in a folder back in my room in the states. If it 
is, Oscar, you can get it from my room can't you?

Sorry for being so unavailable this summer. I'm currently living in the jungle 
with no internet or phone access so it will usually take me a few weeks to 
respond to anything.

Thanks Alanna, I love the "action items" section!

The Student Organization Day for the Welcome Back Days is on August 22nd from 
10am-2pm. I emailed the Student Activities Center (SAC) to ask how we can sign 
up for a table.
