sensor light stays on #12

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. When screen is on, little red sensor light on the top also stays on all the 
time. 

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
-Android 4.4.2, HTC sense 6, software: sexth-element-s, HTC SDK API 6.20
