Zend Mail Protocol Exception

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Email Quote 2 customer as PDF
2.
3.

Error: Zend Mail Protocol Exception: Missing internal data in the header. 
Message discarded. 

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Should have emailed Quote, just Error message.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? Have
you got any extensions enabled?
2011.1 , Linux, none (Installed by Softaculous on SiteGround Hosting).

Please provide any additional information below.

Do you get the same error if you try and email invoices?

Hi  there,
I am having exactly the same issue as Edward with email sending.

Running on Mac, latest version 2011, Softaculous on Siteground as well. Lots of 
customising done, generates PDF but when sending the invoice generates same 
error:

Zend Mail Protocol Exception: Missing internal data in the header. Message 
discarded.

Please help if you can.
