Text (and other items) do not display with Flash player 9 and Owleplant-1 #568

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Install Flash player 9.0.280
2.View the SVG Web Demos at
http://codinginparadise.org/projects/svgweb/samples/demo.html
3. Many of these do not display correctly, e.g. text-text-01-b.svg, or
scimitar.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect to see the SVG displayed. Instead, the page is blank.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system,
browser, and version of Flash?

Owlephant-1
Windows XP SP3
IE 7.0.5730
Flash player 9.0.

Please provide any additional information below. Reduced test cases are
always appreciated!

It seems fine with Gelatinous-Cube (svgweb-2009-11-23-Gelatinous-Cube). Also
fine if I use Flash Player 10.

Unfortunately, the corporate desktop in the huge organisation I am working is
still using Flash player 9.

Since early June, svg.swf has been compiled for Flash 10. In part because of
text issues. See r1168 and Issue 158.

Ken is right; we now require Flash 10 or above support. Marking as INVALID.

Thanks for your prompt responses.

I have a couple of suggestions -
   1) You might state this dependency more obviously on your information pages - for idiots like me!
   2) You could indicate on your downloads page which is the last release which works (albeit with features) with Flash player version 9.

As I mentioned, I'm working in a dinosaur of an organisation (with many
thousands of users) which will be using the old Flash player for some time to
come - there must be a great many other people in the same situation. In
my case, I am able to get by with the older release.

Thanks again

Mike H
