Authentication problem when the username left blank

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I'm using my Transmission with the username left blank, and I only use 
password.
2. When I try to save my server authentication settings, the enable 
authentication checkbox goes back to blank, if I not set a username, just setup 
my password. And I cannot connect to Transmission.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the products are you using?
OS: windows xp sp3
Transmission: Transmission 2.41 (12957)
Remote: v3.24 build 2
