Eclipse Plugin Not Working #548

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

I am currently trying to follow the download steps found at this current
location: https://code.google.com/p/umple/wiki/Install_Eclipse_Plugin

As some background, I am using a Mac with the latest OS, and the latest Indigo
Eclipse Modeling Tool as asked for in the directions.

I am able to download both JET and XText extensions but I run into a wall when
I try to put the 'cruise.umple.xtext.ui' file inside of the Eclipse Plugins
folder. Mainly, when I follow the links in step 2, I am brought to the GitHub
page but neither of the three .jar files represent the 'cruise.umple.xtext.ui'
name, but I have tried to take those and put them in the Plugin folders
anyways. When I do this, it will process the Umple document but the Java files
will not have any content inside of them.

When that occurred, I went the opposite route and downloaded the entire Umple
project. I found the folder named 'cruise.umple.xtext.ui' and then put that
into the Plugins folder in the Eclipse folder. Yet, I still am not able to
process any Umple code. I am not sure if I have done this incorrectly or not.
Please let me know if there is any other information I can provide.

I remember I have issues using Indigo and I solved them by using Kepler
instead.
May be you can try to use Kepler first!
I think you can go to Umple-Dev or Umple-Help to get more help from others.

The XText based plugin hasn't bee supported for a long time. But the regular
Umple plugin as released on Github - see http://dl.umple.org has been used by
many people and seems just fine.
