Ambient Light Sensor stops working at random times on VPCS132FX #58

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Happens when laptop is on for a while
2. When monitor lid closes

Is it possible that the daemon gets killed in the background? How can I check
or debug this issue so I can assist in a better bug report?

This happens on VPCS11E7E too with kernel 3.0. The deamon seems to be still
running, but it doesn't adjust the backlights anymore.

Same problem here, Ubuntu 12.04 on VPCS11E7E. I don't even know where to start
debugging this.

We should try to also talk to the ubuntu developers...it seems that this is
something that should be streamlined and supported. They support ambient light
sensor support for mac books and asus laptops. I don't understand why sony has
no support!

Hey I'm on a VPCS11E7E and I can't get the ALS working... Is there any way I
can make it work without compiling my own kernel?
