video4fuse 0.6+ not generating .thm files on some Windows systems #51

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

I must be missing something obvious here since the video4fuze project home page
explicitly mentions that video4fuze generates a .thm file since version 0.3

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Run video4fuse.exe
2. Select a *.mp4 generated by a Canon camera
3. Press Convert! button

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: A _fuze.avi and a corresponding .thm file.
Actual: A _fuze.avi file, but no .thm file

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.6+ on Windows Vista with all the latest and greatest patches

Please provide any additional information below.
I'm using all the default settings.

It's been a known issue for some time now: I don't know why, but in some
windows systems .THM files won't be generated. It works on others, though.
Until now the issue had only been reported on windows xp.

I'm sorry but have no clue about the root of the problem, as it seems to
randomly work in some windows systems (the most), and silently fail in some
others (like yours).

Anyways, THM files are just JPG files with a weird extension and the same
filename as the AVI file, so you could manually do it if it's very very very
necessary.

You could also try ina different machine and see if the problem persists, so we
can try to figure out what do those special windowses share which makes
video4fuze not to generate THM files.

I have the same problem, but i just copied over the converted video file (no
.thm file), and it plays on the Fuze.

Hope this helps.
