How do you want your posts to sort? Feature is not working #464

The post display using the post time and date and will not filter by the 
selected Custom Field 
This feature seems to have no effect.

I could not reproduce this.  Several people have filed invalid bug reports 
relating to this because they thought the controls applied to the front-end of 
the site.  The sorting included in your content type definition applies only to 
the WP ADMIN.  Here's a screenshot of me sorting my movie-posts by their 
release date:

Please remember that you should always store dates in a sortable format.  I 
recommend the MySQL standard: YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS.  Storing other text values 
as dates will not be sortable.
