I have tried several times now to add a new content type named "portfolio" with
no success as I keep getting the reply "Please choose another name. is a
reserved name."

I have tried resting the entire database, removed all other plugins and still
no luck.

If the portfolio content type is something reserved naturally by WP then sorry
for wasting your time. This is the first wordpress site i've made.

Can you include the info outlined here?
https://code.google.com/p/wordpress-custom-content-type-manager/wiki/ReportingBu
gs

It looks like there's supposed to be a language string in there, i.e.
"__________ is a reserved name" so the problem may be that the variable isn't
getting populated.

well the strange thing is it works if I use almost any other term, it just wont
take portfolio for some reason.

I just tried with a fresh install as well in case its something i missed and
still no luck.

Ok, I just confirmed: 'portfolio' is a reserved term. There is still an error
here because that should be printed for you. The reserved terms are not well
documented by WP, so I've ended up collecting a list as I got reports of things
breaking.

The reserved terms that I am aware of are:

'post', 'page', 'attachment', 'revision', 'nav_menu', 'nav_menu_item',
'preview', 'portfolio'

I'm marking this closed.
