Capture Windows screen messages to text output

What new or enhanced feature are you proposing?
- capture the text of Windows displays such as dialogue-box texts or a 
directory tree listing as text (rather than as a graphic), for later editing, 
similar to Capture Assistant, which describes this as [CA] "extracts text from 
any window, even if copy/paste is not available (list controls, tree controls, 
status bars, protected documents, buttons, etc). Capture Assistant preserves 
formatting of captured text." - although the preservation of the formatting of 
captured text is not so important for me.

What goal would this enhancement help you achieve?
- document Windows error messages, directory contents, dialogue-box texts and 
generally help in the debugging of software in the Windows environment.
