Installed M.2 A+E Coral module, motherboard died #759

This is the strangest post I've made yet. Since I couldn't get the USB Coral module, I chose to go with the M.2 A+E one and stick it in a HP 800 G1 mini which I use for my home automation. It replaced the M.2 AE wifi module that was already there. After re-assembly, no post, no boot sounds, nothing. I work in IT and this is nothing complicated but I have never come across such a thing. After some troubleshooting I replaced the CPU and it booted fine. Tried swapping a couple times to confirm and yes installing the M.2 Coral module killed the CPU. At the moment I'm being cautious but I will install it again with the working CPU to see what happens. This is a very odd issue.

Man your prehistoric PC never heard of M.2 slot, so dont blame M.2 adaptor I have two M.2 key A+E adapters, one installed on SBC other on desktop PC and both work fine You should blame your cheap Chinese adaptor that you use to connect M.2 cards to PCIX slot on MB. And ofcourse this very old CPU that is died of old age
