Two PC's, one for HA and one for Reolink/ Frigate. #775

Description

Hi all. This is not about an issue, I'm just looking for advice for the best way to proceed. I recently struggled a lot with Proxmox where HA and Frigate running on each their docker/ VM: https://github.com/google-coral/edgetpu/issues/762. I could never get it to detect the PCI Coral despite a lot of good help from the people here.

I decided I would try two dedicated machines instead, so I have gotten two HP ProDesk's. So I am wondering what to install on each machine, and I see my options as such:

  1. Install Reolink on machine 1 and use that for the NVR function. Install HA on machine 2 with the PCI Coral, add the Frigate add on in HA and get streams from machine 1.
  2. Install Frigate with the PCI Coral on machine 1 and use that for the NVR functionality, and HA on machine 2.

Is there a third option? Are the chances of success greater in one of the two options? Other issues?

Update: I ended up going with option 1 above, except gettings streams for frigate directly from the cameras instead of from the other machine. PCI Coral detected and all went smoothly.
