Fatter font? #2

I know this is my fault, since I introduced the original CSS (copied from Github's free templates -- I realize I never checked the license, actually, woops, need to check), but I'm thinking that the font is a bit too "thin", not fat enough, making it strenuous to read large amounts of text.

Do you think we should add this to the list of revisions to the CSS?

i agree. the font is too thin.

soumith commented 10 years ago

but at 125% zoom level, everything looks good.

Yes, I agree the default should be a bit heavier! I'll tweak it a bit at some point.

I think we should probably be use both a larger size and a different font. E.g. the one used on github's website (it might be a simple Helvetica) looks good. The CSS for the dok uses a fancy font, which can probably be done with.

I think you're right… I just tried with Helvetica Neue and it's definitely easier to read- albeit a bit boring. But that's a reasonable tradeoff! On 6 Dec 2013, at 16:19, Julien Cornebise notifications@github.com wrote:

This is adjusted in the latest - let me know what you think. (Also added search, which is a bit experimental!) I think it's an improvement but I'm definitely still open to suggestions.

For reference, since I already told you IRL: that looks much better, thanks!

soumith commented 10 years ago

indeed it does!
