Hi Mathias!
Currently we don't have any sign languages. These may be added at a future update.
How important do you think NLP is for written sign language, rather than investing directly in video-to-video translation?

Hi Isaac
There is some interest in sign language processing involving writing systems, such as
Machine Translation between Spoken Languages and Signed Languages Represented in SignWriting
and there are alternatives to SignWriting such as HamNoSys that are being investigated as well.
Certain analyses you ran (e.g. equating the number of papers with the number of speakers) could be interesting. However, I don't have a clear idea how to extend this for sign languages, since "writing system" means something slightly different in that context. (=for sign languages there are writing systems, but they are not standardized or well established, and only few communities use them on a daily basis).
Closing for now, kind regards! Mathias
Dear colleagues
I think this resource is very useful!
Does the data set include sign languages? I looked at the entries but could not find a sign language so far.
What do you think about extending to sign languages?
Mathias
