Unable to import from Figma (After Effects Error: addComp) #31

Describe the bug After sending selection to After Effects from inside Figma, the composition building is paused to present "after effects error: unable to call “addcomp” because of parameter 5. value is undefined."

This seemed different than another issue reported because this is from Figma.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Using a fresh download of AEUX_0.7.6
  2. Inside Figma, select an artboard to push to AE
  3. Click on 'Send Selection to Ae'
  4. The program pulls up Ae automatically and begins 'building layers' but hits a wall
  5. after effects error: unable to call “addcomp” because of parameter 5. value is undefined.

Expected behavior Seems like it almost works, but after pressing okay on the error, nothing happens. It should build the composition.

Double check that you're running the newest versions of the Ae panel and Figma plugin (0.7.6). If you're up to date, and the problem persists:

  1. Does it happen for every transfer?
  2. Is AEUX automatically precomping groups?
  3. Are you able to transfer layers into the Current Comp (as opposed to creating a New Comp)?

Okay, so I figured it out. AEUX needed to be opened/running inside of AE before pushing Figma 'selection to ae'.

I believe Sketch2AE would automatically open the AEUX extension inside of AE, so I hadn't explored opening the newer 0.7.6 extension before sending from Figma.

Thanks!
