Please add option to add website shortcuts to Android home screen instead of PWA. #7956

What needs to be done? On Android when creating a shortcut to the home screen to this website it now forces a progressive web app to be installed rather than a url shortcut as expected. This PWA opens to the political home page of Google news instead of the personalised "For You" section as expected and desired.

In this and many other situations, the user should have the ability to override the choice of the website on whether a web shortcut or a PWA should be used.

You may want to file a bug against https://crbug.com/new as this repo is not for Chrome development.

Both Firefox and Safari share this standard of not allowing the user to choose between PWA and web shortcut. I think the standard should be clearer if this is in fact a bug and not intended by Web Fundamentals.
