Thanks for the report Yuri. This looks like a manifestation of https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-272164, which is fixed in the next EAP build.

Edit: this is not the case and https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-272393 is the issue tracked on the Jetbrains side for this bug.

Update: in case the issue has a different cause, I've filed https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-272393, since the latest EAP build is not available yet.

Dear @RacoonWally, we apologize for the delay, since we expected such a trivial yet severe IntelliJ idea regression to get fixed in the next few days following the report, yet that did not happen.

A new release with a workaround for it is pending a Jetbrains review and should be available in the Marketplace in the next few days. In the meanwhile, a zipped plugin is available for download at https://github.com/google/bamboo-soy/releases/tag/v.1.6.2-203.
