I'm going to rebuild #639 to include this fix, after it's pulled in.
Okay.... so this doesn't solve the problem, but it does seem like the right thing to do, since we aren't using NDK.
@shirletan do you remember what needed to be done to accept the license agreement for the Android SDK? Travis has started failing with:
You have not accepted the license agreements of the following SDK components: [Android SDK Build-Tools 26.0.1, Android SDK Platform 26].
I don't remember i've done anything specific to fix that. Here's thread i searched and some suggested workaround. https://github.com/travis-ci/travis-ci/issues/6555. i can take a look later today.

Updating gradle to fix this error. Also updating Travis to use SDK 26.
