example migrated to null safety #656

I believe I pushed the fix for the bodyText that is breaking the Travis tests. Can you sync and update the pull request?

I just glanced through all the changes in the commit. How much of that is actually related to the null safety? There appears to be a significant amount of changes to the examples project, is the example app not working at HEAD?

Closing out this PR as stale. If the example app in charts_flutter: ^0.12.0 is broken, please open a PR with reproduction steps so I can debug. Thanks!
