Can this be done using CPC? Printing from any application to a GCP-printer. #402

I have a GCP-connected HP printer. Printing from https://www.google.com/cloudprint using Chrome and uploading PDFs to this printer works fine. Now I would like to print from any application to this printer. CPC seems to offer that functionality but I don't know how to set it up. This is on OS X.

I have successfully compiled the code and then tried running gcp-connector-util and gcp-cups-connector according to (the very brief) instructions in the wiki and that also seemed to work as expected but now what? How do I add this printer to CUPS? Do I need to be in the same network as the printer when configuring this?

Since you're on OSX, I'd just use this app: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cloud-printer/id463448876?mt=12

I use it personally and it works pretty well.

This connector really isn't for what you're trying to do.

Thanks.

Thanks for you reply.

I also need a Linux solution and it would be nice if I could use the same software on both Linux and OS X.

Exactly what is the purpose with this connector? Can it be used with some "workarounds" for my purpose?

The connector is of no use for you. It just makes printers available through CUPS available locally and/or in the cloud as google cloud print enabled printer. What you're looking for is more or less a printer driver which prints to google cloud
