Can an Android phone detect a Beacon without switching on Bluetooth? #139

Also, I do not have a native app to keep scanning in the background. Will further support be released for detecting Beacons / BLE signals without switching on Bluetooth?

It is impossible to detect beacons without Bluetooth. Modern phones do not drain the battery significantly when bluetooth is turned on, however most people still think so. It is much better to just keep bluetooth turned on.
