Variable fonts are not showing #2525

For the past two days the variable fonts have not been displaying and not able to be selected. This issue is at least only happening on Chrome, which is what I primarily use.

@ReneeLKimbrell is this still happening for you? I can't reproduce on Chrome 84, macOS

I am not having that issue any more on Chrome. I was when I first submitted the problem and was having it for a few days but it seems good now.
