Hey there, seems like there hasn't been an axis registration PR in the axis registry yet?

Hi. Google Fonts is working on axis registrations in full speed at the moment. There is a priority list and the contrast axis is not at the top ;) but we’ll get to it and then the work on Akshar will resume.

Axis registration is subject to lengthy debates and much scrutiny because mistakes made early will cause confusion and incompatibilities for all times and fonts to come.

Assigning to Viv for now to assess the variable axis requirements, then we can decide how to onboard the family after we have a plan for the custom VF axis support.

Hi @tallchai, We revised the current CNTR axis in the font and confirmed that we don't need to register it since the YOPQ axis already supports the changes performed by it. Please find more information in its Knowledge page and in our Axis Registry data.

Font has been updated with the recommendation provided here: Updated Contrast (cntr) axis to be Parametric Thin Stroke (YOPQ) axis Issue #7140 created to update the font in Google fonts.

This issue can be closed when the update is merged. 👍🏽
