Hi there, this font seems to have ceased development. I'm not sure if GF can still accept it?

The original developer seems to have ceased, but it's an open-source font that anyone can help maintain and update as needed, correct?

@RosaWagner what is needed from my end at this point for the font submission to move forward?

eliheuer commented 11 months ago

@hooshies I just reviewed this and I think we can try adding it to Google Fonts, specifically the Persian version I think would be a good addition. I looked at all the other Arabic Fonts on Google Fonts and nothing else is in this style.

Since this project is no longer maintained either you or I needs to make a fork and update it to be compatible with the Google Fonts system. There is documentation explaining everything that is needed to onboard a font to Google Fonts here: https://googlefonts.github.io/gf-guide/

This will require a lot of work, since the source files use the FontForge SFD format, and not UFO or Glyphs which are the industry standard source formats that are easy to work with.

@eliheuer @chrissimpkins apologies for the delay in responding to this.

Is there any action needed by me at this point? Or is still request simply pending?

I pretty much abandoned the project, there were moments when I thought of marketing the Hebrew project independently, I felt that there was no serious consideration from your point of view, as you know the development of a typographic project requires a complex philosophical preoccupation both in understanding the phonetic communication between the characters and their essence in the languages and in their evolutionary tradition, and in the level of visual development and the solutions to create Reducing chemistry that functions in a balanced and optimal way Are you really motivated to help me promote it? for all that it implies. I can't waste time! Sincerely, Shuki
