malformed glyph in Hind Siliguri #6037

Describe the bug Hind Siliguri's regular, medium and semi-bold weight has malformed glyph shape for U+09E7 Bengali Digit One. Light and bold weight has the correct shape.

To Reproduce See the unicode character "১" in different weights of Hind Siliguri.

Expected behavior The glyph shape for "১" in regular, medium and semi-bold weights should be similar to the shapes in light and bold weight.

I'm hosting a set of fixed font files here: https://github.com/bdeshi/Hind-Siliguri/tree/main which I'm happy to submit as a PR if everything's ok.

Hi @bdeshi thanks for your report. Indeed there is an interpolation issue. My only concern is that onboarding a fix may open the pandora box on other issues due to new requirement and fontforge as sources. Let me discuss with the team to see how we can proceed here and we'll come back to you.

hi @RosaWagner, sorry for being a little noisy but do you have any ETA on this yet?

about the fontforge sources, I wasn't able to build from the original source code published by ITF (here https://github.com/itfoundry/hind-siliguri) so decided to fall back on sfds. I'm trying to get ITF's build process running so that i can update their glyphs files, would that be ready for acceptance then?
