Fraunces variable desktop: issues with variable parameters #7381

Variable font problems (desktop version): – selecting anything with variable font controls results in substitute font – weird variable fonts among weights ( [144pt-126.450 Light] , [9pt SemiBold-620.000] )

Environment

Additional context I use a lot of variable fonts successfully in Adobe Indesign and they work perfectly, so I would exclude that is a software bug.
