User request to disable automatic ligatures on Space Mono #7907

User request from Listnr: "Please disable the automatic ligatures on fi and fl (etc.) as it takes away from the point of using a monospace font when they join together. Thanks."

"fi" lig does look bad since it has been crammed into a single letter.

Added to Q3 to have a look into it.

We agreed to do this within days of the font's release in 2016...

We might use gftools-remap-layout to drop the ligature feature support.

We'll detach from the current afdko build system and migrate gf builder.

The migration required extra work to fix the sources. Roman is ready. Italic to be done. Development followed in this branch.
