Is there a place where the community hangs for discussions ? I'd have many questions .. I'd like to learn more about appraise, the plans the direction, etc.. what about gophers.slack.com ?

No, but there should be. Thanks for bringing this up.

I just went ahead and created a git-appraise-users mailing list, and will start publicizing it.

I don't have any experience with slack, but I also created https://git-appraise.slack.com for people to use.

Hmm I think it'd be better to join a community on Slack.. I already have many Slack communities.. it's easier to pull in gophers in a Chat when in the gophers.slack.com no ?

Alternatively, there's gitter.im .. but I prefer Slack.

I'm not a member of gophers.slack.com (and can't seem to join it), so I don't know if this is appropriate for that community. Specifically, git-appraise is written in Go, but otherwise has no connection to it. Kubernetes is similar in that regard (written in Go), but they chose to have their own slack community rather than just creating a channel in gophers.slack.com.

That makes me think we should probably follow the same pattern.

I played with gitter.im a bit to get a feel for it. I don't have any reason yet to prefer it over Slack or vice versa. However, it is probably better to have a smaller number of forums so that the ones we have can gain critical mass.

All this being said, though, I suspect the Google Group will be the best place to post questions.
