Yes, this really is an annoying limitation because the organisation chart would otherwise
be ideal to create family trees

Hello,
Is somebody have found an alternative solution to create a family tree with org chart
or another api ?
Thank you for your answers.
Regards,
David M.

There doesn't seem to be any other plugins that can properly make a family tree so this
would be a great feature to add to the API.

maybe it would be good to do it as "any kind" of oriented graph..
for example if someone would like to do a UML using google chart api or something like
that..

Has anything been done about this? I'm trying to draw up a family tree and the single
parent issue is the *one* major downfall of the organizational chart structure.

The problem is that google uses a very simple orthogonal, grid-based layout of the nodes
in the org chart diagram. Implementing multiple parents means that google will have
to get much smarter with the layout algorithm. I don't see this enhancement happening
any time soon. If you need powerful diagrams and layouts then you're better off springing
for ILOG JViews. It's expensive, but it's very powerful.
