Thumbnail Icon #1177

I didn't find a good icon for showing a thumbnail gallery.

Sure one could use Apps or View Module https://fonts.google.com/icons?selected=Material+Icons:apps https://fonts.google.com/icons?selected=Material+Icons:view_module baseline_apps_black_24dp baseline_view_module_black_24dp

But I'd rather go for something similar to Art Track https://fonts.google.com/icons?selected=Material+Icons:art_track baseline_art_track_black_24dp

My Idea would be something like that: baseline_thumbnail_black_24dp

I think that approach just has way too much detail for the sizes Material Symbols/Icons are intended to work at. Default/baseline size is 24 px. "art_track" was already redesigned for Material Symbols, such that the left part with the mountain would be bigger — perhaps in part for that reason.

I would suggest using "view_module" or "view_compact" myself.

Just my personal opinion — I am not the one making go / no-go decisions on new icons, even if I am producing most of the Google Symbols variations.

There is also a "browse_gallery" icon, although I don’t understand its intention, myself.... (!)

This is in process; we have already done the variable font work. It should be externally available within a week or two. It is called gallery_thumbnail Enjoy!

@EsoFromTheEast please close when you have updated the repo with both SVG and TTF

Not handy, but I can say it has elements reminiscent of both art track, and the concept you suggested.
