Standard Icons for Water Quality (pH, EC, ORP, DO) #1195

I've been building a water quality system and been trying to only use Google/Material Fonts and Icons, it's flutter based on GCP. I have a budget but would real like standard Icons for pH, EC, DO, ORP, Salinity, Specific Gravity, Total Dissolved Solids. And with air and light monitor humidity, pressure, altitude, Dew Point, Lux, infrared, visible, full_spectrum, CO2, VOC.

Can I submit the output of my graphic designer or fund yours to create Icons for these measurements and then have them included in the next release free to all?

Hey @ben700

I know it took a while, but we in fact have a bunch of these now added to our source font. Please let us know what you think and what else might be most important once you can see them.

They should be externally available within a week or two.

I hope you also added calibrations, high and low level etc

Those are the best I collected

It looks like all those additional icons have two problematic features: 1) they have trademark symbols on them, suggesting they are not well suited to using as a basis or starting point for new icons 2) they are very abstract and I don’t really see how they relate to the thing they are supposedly representing

Between those two factors, I would be inclined to recommend against referencing them as a starting point for new Google icon designs.

water_voc :- voc are Volatile Organic Compounds or smell; they are measured in air not water water_lux :- lux is a measure of how bright light is turbidity is a measure of how much light can pass through water

specific_gravity :- it's what a hydrometer measures, my feedback just not inline with other water quality look and feel

the meters that measure water quality often need calibration, for example when calibrating pH you usually calibrate using a low buffer, medium buffer and high (4pH being low, 7pH being medium and 10pH being high)

My system the users also set maximum and minimum intervention levels and alarm levels! eg Water Temp intervention levels of 15 and 25 would mean 15 and below the system turns on heater and 25 and above turns on a water chiller, alarm levels are to notify when the intervention doesn't keep measure within range so alarm levels set 12 and 27! Sometimes intervention levels are called setpoints and alarm levels notification levels
