Icon Request: (git) branch #1596

I would like to request a (git) branch icon.

@thecomputerfella No, sorry. :(

Icon production is done solely by Google contractors/staff. There are some pretty rigid requirements. This is noted in the repo Readme here: https://github.com/google/material-design-icons#icon-requests

After the initial design is created as vector artwork on both 20 px and 24 px grids, it has to be assigned a PUA codepoint, and then another hour or two of design work is done to create the various variable font masters for it. Then it has to be included in the next font build, and onboarded…

All of which is to say that there are hours of work involved, per icon, and it would be worse if even more people were in the mix trying to do initial designs.
