Can I ask what is blocking this? I have been waiting on the lock file fix and I am not sure what is causing the action to not be updated. Is there anything I can do to help get this over the finish line @chingor13?

I suspect we are waiting on the v4 milestone (https://github.com/google-github-actions/release-please-action/pull/871).

Really unfortunate to see such an important fix get tied to a major. If that is the case then I guess I hope the new major isn't a big refactor for us. 🤞

@wesleytodd Is there a particular bugfix were you looking for? release-please 15.13.0 was the last 15.x version. If there was a bugfix in release-please v16, we can probably backport it to v15, release a new 15.x version and update the v3 action.

The specific one I was looking for was the lock file updates for monorepos. It is my only PR to the main project and it blocks anyone from using the action in a monorepo who also runs npm ci as part of the release process because npm ci relies on an updated lock file and errors out when they are out of sync.
