When will Colab Pro be available to use outside the United States? #1039

I'm an engineer live in Japan and I have google account (national: Japan) I have signed up for google colab Pro and can use it without any problems. Is it regal? Is there any problems with this?

When will Colab Pro be available to use outside the United States officially?

what the hell google colab, at least write some about the US stuff on your page https://colab.research.google.com/signup I'm also from Japan and tried some workaround ways like VPN and still struggling with this, no clue ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Is someone have information about the free Colab usage limits policy ? I no longer have access to the GPU and it is impossible to know why and when I would have access to it. It's amazing that a company like google can release such a flawed service. I'm not even talking about using Drive with Colab which is so slow it's almost unusable. It is really disappointing.

Hi guys, I have good news and bad news.

The good news is that Google Colab Pro has officially expanded its target countries!! https://colab.research.google.com/pro/terms

But, some countries still seem to be unwelcoming.....

are you sure?

I'm currently based in France and clicking the "UPGRADE NOW" button on the Colab Pro page gives me this message:

An unexpected error has occurred. Please try again later. [OR-FGBFDL-35]

And I'm quite sure this is because of my location right now...

I'm currently based in France and clicking the "UPGRADE NOW" button on the Colab Pro page gives me this message:

An unexpected error has occurred. Please try again later. [OR-FGBFDL-35]

And I'm quite sure this is because of my location right now...

I just got answer from the Colab support and they wrote that Colab Pro is still not accessible from outside of US / Canada but they are "working on it".

Just ran into the "You cannot currently connect to a GPU/TPU due to usage limits in Colab." messages coupled with the fact that in Germany I still cannot get the Pro version. It was an excellent tool for quick prototyping so far but these 2 limitations, together, prevent any kind of chained-training for larger models. Is there any estimation on when the Pro version will be available for use in Germany ?

I managed to finally get it! Currently in Poland (for one more week) but my account is based in the UK.

The Free version is awesome, but being kicked off your session because of GPU limit is crucifying !

@Google : Colab Pro not being available just encourages users to create multiple Google Accounts, and we do not want that, do we ?

Hmm, I might have my university-provided VPN turned on then. It seems I was just lucky...
