No reliable way to merge NotoColorEmoji with regular fonts? #422

Tried to merge NotoColorEmoji windows compatible version as well as COLRv1 version with different fonts to use on Android resulting in very broken emojis (otherwise fine)

Used FontLab (both 7 and 8) at first and then tried FontCreator. However, FontCreator and FontLab 7 does not identify the emojis properly and shows them as outlines. Followed these instructions to merge them. I've attached the results I've gotten as well as the merged font.

I am new to these matters and it's unknown to me whether it's difficult or impossible to merge fonts reliably without any technical knowledge. So please excuse my ignorance.

Inter-Regular-COLRv1.docx is the merged font uploaded as docx, please change to ttf. Any guidance regarding this matter would be helpful.
