Currently roboto renders the egyptological alef with two separate "bellies" -- which is causing some confusion to our students just learning the Gardiner signs. According to the original proposal http://unicode.org/wg2/docs/n2241.pdf and an example from the original book (see: http://web.ff.cuni.cz/ustavy/egyptologie/pdf/Gardiner_signlist.pdf page 467 in line g1, before the term `vulture', the ideogram alef occurs as a connected double-bellied symbol.
We propose moving the two "bellies" closer together to not have a visible gap between them.
Hi folks.
We use them on our site: https://benihassan.com/gallery/42a/ to render the transliteration of the hieroglyphics.
Thanks!
