@davelab6 yesss, let me know when you want to have the meeting 🙂.
Looking at the latest file pushed 15h ago, at the opsz max wght max wdth max, a few things I noticed on typeroof
y
can be smootherS
looks pinched, and (with s
) may be too wide in context of other capsC
seems too wide in context of other capsWith opsz max wght max wdth min, typeroof:
Z
seems too narrow in context of other capsc
aperture seems quite open compared to others, could be tighter to match /a/e/g
With opsz max wght min wdth min, typeroof:
It seems at wght 150 the 'dark spots' effect melts away, but even 100 has it.
With opsz max wght min wdth max, typeroof
G
and C
has a slight stroke weight thinning at the lower right, and D
is slightly thicker, compared to the other strokes overall (/J/O/S
). (This is already a masterpiece btw :)With opsz max wght min wdth 50, typeroof:
K
and W
diagonal strokes are a little thickZ
diagonal stroke is a little thinm
first stem/arch join, y
tail, are thin and drop out4
diagonal, 8
center join, also (even when blown up big)4
top is a little thick when blown upGreat progress! 8 point structure at 144 151 100 still funky :)
8
looking good at 144 151 100
Only small thing I see now is y
at 144 100 151
As per #55 I just compared the RF release vs the latest RFA2 pushed an hour ago in typeroof, and I see great progress :) Yet there are many "little details" I'd like to propose changing, such as the smoothness of the curve on the bottom edge of
t
that is flat in the current RFA2, the flat edge of the left most side of the counter ofd
andg
, the flaring at the end ofg
, and so on.Overall there are some changes from the RF to RFA2 design, that @dberlow says are true improvements and nudging them closer to the original (like the stroke width of
e
crossbar) would actually be undesirable, but that it would be best for me to go over all these little details directly with @sannorozco on a call next to discuss next week :)
