Review character/glyph set against latest Google specs #273

Our original glyph spec was:

Glyphs: ~ 1200 total glyphs (~872 without Cyrillic) GF Latin Plus: 586 GF Latin Plus Optional (cap accents, slashed zero): 25 Case alts from Latin Pro optional: 17 Small caps from Latin Expert: 244 (note: Latin Expert small caps may be an overstatement; they need to be cross-indexed carefully against the main character set. Probably some alternates will be added of one kind or another. Glyph count is a close approximation, but not final.) Cyrillic Plus 317 (includes small caps)

However, I believe some of the Google glyph sets involved may have evolved in the past couple of years.

Cross-check to find the exact diffs will take more effort, but it appears offhand that if we updated to current versions we would get:

GF Latin Plus: 567+25=592 (+6) GF Latin Plus Optional (cap accents, slashed zero): 25 (+0) Case alts from Latin Pro optional: 17 (+0) Small caps from Latin Expert: 244+? (+6 if they match the change in Latin Plus) Cyrillic Plus 317 includes small caps (+0, no change)

So, +12 glyphs is all, it seems? to be confirmed with closer analysis

Actually, no, we are already OK!

6 characters missing comparing current Google specs against our original spec from start of project Only 1 missing in our working tracking spreadsheet from development: “Ŏ” (U+014E) Latin Capital Letter O with Breve But that character is in the actual font

:)

Gah, forgot to also cross-check a couple of unencoded glyphs. Some minor work may be needed:

At some point "hookcomb" got renamed to "uni0309" which is legit and fine

The other two are both OK, so all done
