Hi, In West Africa here we are always looking for some more interesting fonts usable in the local languages. I maintain a small list of fonts that are suitable for the Mande language group.

https://coastsystems.net/blog/en/blog/2020-08-26-fontlist/

Your font is partly there but missing a couple of glyphs. What we need are:

Glyph IPA Unicode
ɔ "0254
Ɔ "0186
ɛ "025B
Ɛ "0190
ɲ "0272
Ɲ "019D
ŋ "014B
Ŋ "014A

You already have 2 out of 4!! https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Space+Mono?preview.text=M%C9%94g%C9%94k%C9%94r%C9%94w%20ka%C9%B2i%20ka%20k%C9%9B%20ni%20%C5%8Bania%20%C9%B2uman%20ye&preview.text_type=custom

If one day we could get space mono it would benefit some 30 million people that have only about 40 fonts at the present time.

Thanks!

I would add that I would like to see the Esperanto letters which are also part of the Latin Extended block in Unicode:

It... never... ends... :-/

@hpapazian I've never seen C with a tilde before. What language is that plaque in?

I am confident it's not even part of the Unicode standard or even the MUFI standard.

hpapazian commented 1 year ago

I took that photo in Budapest (in 2019). I suspect the C-tilde is a variant form of Ç, adopted possibly because it's easier to compose. I don't know how widespread it is. But not being in Unicode only makes things more complicated...

It could be theoretically added to Unicode but they would need more evidence of its usage. I'd start with MUFI if it has historic usage. 🤔
