What do I need to install? #95

Guys, I just saw there's two more custom stuff (apart from the custom firmware
I already updated) and I would like to know if I need to install that too.

What's that for?

minidlna_rt-n56u-1.0.22.ipk

and

rt-n56u-1.0.1.7f.patches-p10_4.tar.bz2

Do I need any of these? I have only 1 computer on LAN and I'm also using a USB
drive on the router so I can reproduce media from it on my computer, through
the LAN.

Could you guys tell me what do I need to update and how?
Thanks and I'm sorry about the lame questions.

in my opinion:

minidlna - is dlna suppor, that was in original firmware, it was removed by
reason, takes a lot of memory that can be used for some other sofware.
u need it in case u want to use DLNA feature on your router, ofcorse if u dont
use other.

second - that's the patch for padavan's p10-3 firmware, as for me it upgrades
p10-3 to p10-4(the last one for 2day - corrects some network errors), so if u
use p10-4 - u don't need it.

hope i helped

Hi, thank you for your reply. What is that DLNA support for? I found a wiki
about it but couldn't understand the purpose of it. Could you explain me?

Thank you again :)

You can stream your music, photos and movies over the network to your tv or
phone or anything that is compatible with dlna. So you don't have to connect
usb with movie or your laptop to tv to watch it. Just do it directly from
router.
